Wills Brewer, a fifth-generation Oklahoman, currently works in research-based, collected materials exploring a place's social, ecological, geological, and systematic histories. Precisely, place over time. He has mainly worked in ceramics for the past decade with the addition to his research of place, focusing on the idea of "The West" and the seemingly endless constructs that come from it. Through observation, investigation, and engagement, he has mainly explored the relations and narratives that make up communities, which he has expressed through previous observation, examination, travel, and documentation. Works consist of sculpture, photography, collage, writing, experimentation, and exploration of land use and reuse through the creation of forms derived from the natural world and the narratives the land upholds.
